Where to Stay in Laoag City. Laoag City has accommodation to suit a range of visitors, from smaller inns and pension houses to city hotels and larger resorts. Some are close to the shops, restaurants and attractions in the city centre, while others are located along Airport Road or nearer the coast. Whether you are staying for one night or using Laoag as a base to explore Ilocos Norte, there are several areas and styles of accommodation to consider.
I have stayed in Laoag many times, and our preference has been Balay da Blas Pensionne House. The city also has established hotels such as Java Hotel and Hotel Tiffany, budget lodging houses and larger resort level properties such as Fort Ilocandia. This guide brings together the accommodation in our original pages and other identifiable places to stay in Laoag. Check before you book as properties go in and out of business.
Balay da Blas Pensionne House. Balay da Blas Pensionne House has been my preferred place to stay in Laoag. I have found it reasonably priced, conveniently located for the city centre and comfortable, with a high standard of accommodation. The property was originally a family residence, giving it a different character from a larger hotel. It is also associated with Saramsam Ylocano Restaurant, where visitors can enjoy Ilocano-inspired dishes during their stay.
Java Hotel. Java Hotel, on General Segundo Avenue, also known as Bacarra Road, caters to both leisure and business travellers. It has a swimming pool, function facilities and the Eagles’ Nest Bar and Restaurant. The hotel is a useful choice for visitors who want a restaurant on the property, as well as for those attending meetings, seminars or other events in Laoag.

Sola Hotel and Sola Bed and Breakfast. Sola Hotel and Sola Bed and Breakfast offers accommodation in Laoag, including family rooms. The property also has a restaurant, garden and parking. Paradise Lodging & Drive-In. Paradise Lodging & Drive-In appeared in the original guide in Barangay Barit. It can be found in older accommodation lists, but its current operating status could not be confirmed.
Fort Ilocandia Resort Hotel. Fort Ilocandia Resort Hotel, in Barangay Calayab, is Laoag’s best-known large resort. It occupies an extensive property near the coast, with architecture influenced by Spanish and Moorish styles. The resort offers a different experience from a city-centre hotel, with restaurants and leisure facilities on the property. It is outside central Laoag and suits visitors who want a resort setting while exploring the province.
Grand Octagon Resort. Grand Octagon Resort is listed on Airport Avenue in Barangay 50, Buttong. Our original guide described it as a resort with guest rooms, gardens, a swimming pool and a restaurant. Its airport-side location provides an alternative to staying in central Laoag or at Fort Ilocandia.
